#WIN IT | A Soft Moc Giveaway

WASHMOC Blue Suede Washable Moccasin

Maple Moose Fringe Bootie Moccasins

Whether they've been 'in' or not, moccasins have always been a mainstay in my house. Instead of shuffling around in wholly unsexy slippers, we like to spend our downtime in cute mocs. Furry mocs keep our toes toasty in the winter, while fringed leather mocs keep us covered in the summer. And I have to say, I'm always relieved to have them on foot whenever unexpected guests drop by.

Spring '15 is all about the seventies so this year is sure to see a resurgence of the classic moc. Soft Moc sent me a few new pairs of mocs (available exclusively at Soft Moc) to test drive and I just had to share. First up, the new Washmoc suede moccasins - that's right, a washable suede moc, lined with a memory foam insole for extra comfort. They're cute, super cozy and come in both neutrals and brights to add a pop of colour to your downtime. Instead of a bottle of wine, these would make the perfect weekend hostess gift too, don't you think?

The Maple Moose Fringe Bootie Moccasins are simply beautiful. While they're lightweight, the cushioned footbed makes them endlessly wearable, unlike some other mocs I've tried in the past. But my favourite part? These beauties are made in Canada - always a big bonus in my books.

If you haven't checked out Soft Moc lately, you really must. The site is loaded with mocs and mukluks in every imaginable style, colour and pricepoint (more on that later). And btw, Soft Moc is my go-to for any otherwise sold-out style. White Converse? Sorels? Hunters? You can pretty much always count on the store and site to have them in stock. There are currently 108 SoftMoc locations in Canada, or you can of course visit them online at  www.softmoc.com

Okay, now for the best part: My friends at Soft Moc are giving away these gorgeous mocs to 2 lucky RLR Readers! Here's how you can win your own pair:

1) Leave a comment below telling me why you'd love to win a new pair of mocs.

A Hair Save From Clairol

Anyone who knows me understands that my hair is not big on my list of priorities. It goes: family, friends, work, dessert, shoes, accessories, clothes, and then way, way, down, barely even making the bottom of the list is my hair. I shampoo and condition it. Sometimes I brush it. And, let's be honest, sometimes I don't even do that. I only bust out the dryer/straightener/curling wand in emergency situations where I’m called upon to look extra polished – say for a parent-teacher interview, an editor preview, or Fashion Week. So my day-to-day hair routine consists of (what I like to think of as) 'beachy' waves (read: let’s fall asleep on wet hair and see what happens) and loads of chignons, ponytails and cute hats. The first step, as they say, is admitting you have a problem: my life is a series of hair fails.

So, when I was asked to partner with Clairol for their “Shift a Shade” campaign, complete with a colour update from Clairol Consulting Colourist, Luis Pacheco, a session with pro makeup artist, Patrick Rahme, and a fashion consult with super stylist Alexandra Melancon, to be documented at an all-day video shoot at Hair on the Avenue no less, I was stoked. It has been one of my perennial resolutions to make my hair a priority and given that I've started to sprout a few greys, colour seems like the best place to start. (if you can relate, print out this $2-off coupon for Clairol Nice n' Easy)

I've always wondered what it would be like to play celeb for a day and let a team of pros have their way with me. Or my hair at least. You know what I mean. Will they turn me into a bombshell Jessica Rabbit redhead? Or a bubbly blonde? Or perhaps I'll be transformed into a deep, dark, sultry brunette. I'll be sure to report back with my pics and the big video reveal from our Clairol shoot. Eeek! How exciting is this?! Stay tuned...

Go bolder. Go warmer. Go deeper. Go golder. With our broadest spectrum of natural looking shades, you can change it up and still look like your most amazing you. Get inspired and #shiftashade. Nice ‘n Easy with Colour-blend Technology is available in 44 shades. FRIDAY FIND: Plaid Perfection

Plaid Mix Shirt and Patch Boyfriend Jean, both Joe Fresh

As a Joe Fresh Blogger Ambassador, I am occasionally the lucky recipient of special deliveries from Joe Fresh HQ. Today's sweet surprise? A super fun plaid shirt and perfect patch boyfriend jeans, both of which I will live in this fall. The shirt is soft and comfy and not remotely ordinary thanks to its two-toned plaid, and the patchwork bf jeans are the epitome of weekend cool.

Head to your closest Joe Fresh or online now to pick up these two totally perfect fall pieces.

Happy Friday! T to the G to the I to the F. Phew...

An eBay Canada Twitter Giveaway: Outfit 1

As spokesperson for eBay in October, I was able to pull some fabulous looks from the bottomless closet that is eBay Canada. In the process, I found out that you can find loads of brand new fashion on the site. But more importantly, I realized that eBay is actually super simple to shop since you can choose to either 'buy now' with the click of a button (like any other online store) or bid with the best of them.

eBay Canada has given me three brand new outfits I showcased on shows like CHCH Morning Live and The Morning Show TO to give away to you. First up, this gorgeous winter look, featuring a down-filled red parka (size S), a black Club Monaco turtleneck (size S) and a pair of Second Denim leopard pants (size S).

Here's how to win this lovely outfit:

1) Follow @eBayCanada and @realliferunway on Twitter.

2) Tweet the following '@realliferunway & @eBayCanada are giving away a perfect down-filled parka. Details here: http://bit.ly/JCTGua. RT to #win! '

3) Contest closes this Friday, Dec 20th at 5 pm.

Bonne chance! xx

P.S.- I'll be giving away 2 more outfits shortly. Stay tuned...

With Glowing Hearts

Does it get more Canadian than Degrassi? Sarah Fisher of Degrassi gets her pom pom on for the Roots Summer '13 Lookbook. Photo courtesy Roots.

Sometimes, you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. I've travelled quite a bit, even lived in Europe for a year, but as much as I love to explore other countries, I always really miss Canada when I'm not here. I'm not sure if it's the super friendly people or the beautiful change of seasons or the Timbits (probably the Timbits), but you must admit, being a Canadian rocks. We are gloriously free to think, to do, to be whatever we want. And since this is a fashion blog, let's not forget how lucky we are to be able to dress however we want, too.

This July 1st, why not show Canada some sartorial love? If you're a loud and proud patriot, wear your flag emblazoned boldly on your sleeve with the chic Canadiana at Roots or hop on over to Hudson's Bay for the country's oldest, most iconic print - the HBC stripe. You'll break out these pieces year after year so you can totally justify. Consider yourself a more low-key Canadienne? Get in the spirit by wearing Canada's colours, of course...
