WHAT'S GOOD | Carine Roitfeld x Uniqlo

When Carine Roitfeld tells you what to wear, you listen. The former Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris and world-renowned style-setter has perfected 'I Don't Give AF' with her just-rolled-out-of-my-boudoir hair, her I-didn't-bother-taking-my-makeup-off-last-night smoky eyes and a parade of neutral street style looks that makes women half her age constantly question their own coolness.

Roitfeld was inspired by her own wardrobe (naturellement) to create her latest collection for Uniqlo. On-trend fur bombers, as well as updated classics, like tweed blazers, wool and shearling coats, textured pencil skirts and merino sweaters mash up in a capsule that would make a killer wardrobe for any wannabe Parisienne. And if you don't like it, you guessed it: she does not give AF.

The collection hits Uniqlo stores today.

Joe Mimran Leaves Joe Fresh, Joins CBC's Dragons' Den

Photo via George Pimentel

When it was announced a few days ago that Joe Mimran was leaving Joe Fresh - his namesake, his fashion baby - the Canadian fashion community reeled. It seemed like an odd decision to leave a successful company at the top of its game, right in the midst of its global takeover. So what was it? Was there someone else? Was he tired of people thinking his last name was 'Fresh'? Was he simply over the colour orange? I couldn't imagine why he'd leave Joe Fresh unless tempted by an even better opportunity. Turns out I was right.

Joe Mimran will be joining CBC's Dragons' Den as the hit show's newest judge. The 62 year-old fashion vet is a natural choice, having built some of Canada's most successful fashion brands including Alfred Sung, Caban, Club Monaco, and most recently, Joe Fresh.  Though Joe leaves his day-to-day duties behind, he will remain the founder and brand ambassador of Joe Fresh.

Season 10 of Dragons' Den starts shooting next month and will air Wednesday nights at 8 pm on CBC. As an avid DD junkie, I cannot wait to see Mr. Mim in action. One thing I can guarantee? There will be loafers. Oh yes, there will be loafers.

Zoolander 2 is Happening

via Maison Valentino on Instagram

It's been 14 years since we first met the ridiculously good-looking Derek Zoolander and his model nemesis, Hansel. 14 years since Zoolander learned to turn left. While I've always hoped for a rematch, I never thought the duelling male supermodels would ever come to terms on a sequel. At the Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week this morning, the boys finally confirmed it, strutting it on the runway for a crowd of uncharacteristically giddy editors. Paramount further confirmed that the yet-to-be-named 'Zoolander 2' will be released February 12, 2016. So, so exciting! I. can't. even.

Seems fitting that Zoolander made its comeback on the Valentino runway. Have you ever seen Valentino Garavani? Seriously, have you ever seen a better Blue Steel?

SHOPBOP | The Big Event Starts Today

When Shopbop had its Big Event last November, I finally fulfilled a personal fashion goal: I scored myself a Smythe blazer at 25% off. No regrets. My philosophy was (and is) that there are certain items worth the splurge, but if you can get that something you've always wanted on sale, it makes the score that much sweeter.

As a Shopbop blogger, I'm thrilled to announce that The Big Event is back! The sale starts today and runs until Sunday, March 8th at 4:00 AM (Eastern Time) and details are the same as last time:

Save 15% with purchase over $250

Save 20% with purchase over $500

Save 25% with purchase over $1000

The best part? There are NO brand exclusions with this sale except for Stuart Weitzman (no biggie) so you can finally score yourself a SMYTHE, pick up a pair of Ray-Bans, get that 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli you've been eyeing and pick up a few other designer treats for your sister/mom/friend while you're at it. These items normally never go on sale. And remember, the more you purchase, the better the savings - so it's a great idea to team up with your friends on this one.

Head on over to The Big Event HERE and (not to employ fear tactics here but...) find your favourites before your size sells out. I can't think of a better way to celebrate spring xx

BREAKING | Target Leaving Canada

This morning's news is hard to believe. I mean, we knew we were having problems. But, was it really that bad? Couldn't we have worked it out?

Target sent shockwaves through Canada this morning with its decision to shutter all 133 of its Canadian stores due to poor sales. After launching here in March 2013, the company lost almost $1 Billion in its first year, and while losses have decreased since then, the chain continues to lose money daily. "After a thorough review of our Canadian performance and careful consideration of the implications of all options, we were unable to find a realistic scenario that would get Target Canada to profitability until at least 2021," the U.S. parent company's CEO Brian Cornell said in a release today. The company's 17,600 Canadian employees will receive 16 weeks of compensation during the shutdown period.I get it. They had to go. It was a failed project from the start. That bullseye's looking pretty prophetic now, isn't it?

But anyone else feel like they were just starting to fall in love with Target Canada? I loved using my Red card. I adored so many of the designer collaborations. Those little Starbucks cupholders that attached to the shopping carts were a stroke of genius. The Hallowe'en/Christmas/Easter section was the best. And does this mean we won't be able to get our hands on the Lily Pullitzer for Target collection this spring? Ack!

Even though we could sort of see this coming, the speed of the retreat is shocking, isn't it? Goodbye Target. I, for one, am sad to see you go.
