Pinch Me, Please

When I think of slippers, I generally think of Hugh Heffner, Joe Mimran, and other old people with cold feet (kidding if you're reading this Joe..please keep inviting me to your fashion shows :) And for a girl who doesn't even like wearing socks, slipping on slippers when I get home is the last thing I want to do (unless they're fur-lined moccasins, of course).  And yet these fun printed 'Dream-in-Colour' slippers from Anthropologie might actually convince me to do the hallway shuffle.  The eclectic prints in fun brights are like a little party for your feet and now that it's getting cold out, I have to admit my feet are feeling a little naked just looking at them.  An added bonus?  I will totally wear the orange ones out in public - can pretty much guarantee that slippers are poised to be the new ballet flats next spring.

Get your slipper on at Anthropologie ($58 - $68/pair)

Confessions of the Black Legging Brigade

With black leggings comes responsibility.  For how to wear them right (like this model from Gap, www.gapcanada.ca), check out my article in Metro.

Oh, and I just drew the name for my LG Fashion Week care package of fun.  And the winner is....

SARA LANCASTER

Hooray for you!  Treats will be coming in the mail shortly!

Check back next week for loads of fun frocks (so many amazing ones to drool over) to get you ready for party season, the prettiest slippers you've ever seen and lots of other fun fashion treats.  On that note, off to have a little Friday afternoon drink.  Is 2:00 too early?  Happy weekend!

Found: A Proper Topper

When it comes to coats, I'm all about making a statement.  Sure, you wear a coat to keep you warm, but you can also use it as a serious weapon in your style arsenal.  Add this fabulously feminine military coat to your wardrobe and it will instantly fire up everything else you own with its luxe wool/cashmere blend, empire waist and trompe l'oeil peplum pockets.  It's perfect for now and will be even more amazing over the holidays for everything from Christmas shopping to not-so-silent-night soirées.  I'm smitten...I am.

Find the Contemporaine Military Coat now at Simons.ca  ($278)

Versace for H&M = Glamorama for All

Versace for H&M's Lookbook - modeled by the glorious Abbey Lee Kershaw (images: KACPER KASPRZYK)

I wouldn't exactly call myself a Versace girl.  If Donatella had her way with me, she'd dye my hair platinum blonde, pump collagen into my lips while adhering fake lashes to my eyes and, after throwing me to the floor and holding me down with her 6-inch heels, attack me with a bedazzler while screaming, 'VICTORYYYY!!!' Donatella has always scared me a little - see below: (not new but still funny..)

And yet, there's a side to Versace that's so OTT, that it's actually kind of good.  And now that the label is coming to H&M, I might just get my glam on.  The latest collaboration sees iconic Versace pieces, reimagined for H&M - think wild prints, bold colour and sexy dresses.

"The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we've brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can't wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own." Donatella Versace.

In the market for a perfect party dress?  The collection is available in Canada on November 19th at select H&M stores (Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Bloor, Peel/St.Catherine (Montreal), and Pacific Centre (Vancouver) (just in time for the holidays) and prices range from $19.95 to $299.

Be sure to check out more from the Versace for H&M lookbook in my article at ivillage.ca
